Most WordPress bloggers and webmasters use images intensively to support their articles and make them easier to digest. Great images add life, draw visitor’s attention to the content, and may help you keep your people longer on the site. In addition, images may also help you get your content shared on social media websites and today this may be one of the most effective ways to reach out to a broader audience. It is popular to add social share buttons for that focus on the entire page, however, you may also benefit from making the individual images shareable.

Getting this right require that you add some new functionality to WordPress e.g. through plugins. One option is to use a WordPress plugin called Slingpic. It is an online image sharing tool making it easy for your visitors to share your picture across social networks, email and blogging platforms. If you are lucky this may help increase awareness of your content and over time give you more traffic.

Slingpic is available as a free plugin at the WordPress Codex. Open up your WordPress admin dashboard and upload the .zip files you downloaded. Click activate and the plugin is live!
