Most business have a social media strategy in today’s world. Not all businesses have a strategy in writing, but then at least they have an idea of the importance of being present on the different social networks.

However, though good intentions, it can be difficult to get the networks to coexist as they not always seem eager to let you share content across platforms. Facebook, being the largest social network, is often the platform that gets the most attention, and the platform can be used to awake interest and knowledge of your other social networks. As I described some weeks ago it is possible to make Facebook and Pinterest interact by adding a Pinterest tab on your Facebook Fan Page. That said you sometime also need to share content the other way – from Facebook and to Pinterest and that is easier said than done.

If you work with Facebook and Pinterest you will know that Pinning an image from Facebook is kind of tricky and often ends up more time assuming that you hoped for.

Luckily there are some great tools for smoothing this process. Today I want to share with you a handy guide on how to install and use ShotPin. This FREE tool could be the answer to your prayers if you are struggling with pinning images from Facebook. Do keep in mind, that you need to use Google Chrome in order to add the ShotPin function which you will find here.

Add the free ShotPin to your Google Chrome browser

First you need to download the free tool ShotPin.

Go to your Facebook Page

If the download is successful you will be able to see a small pin it symbol on the right of your Chrome browser. Now it is time to visit your Facebook Page and find an image to share on Pinterest. Begin by clicking the Pin it symbol.

Highlight the image for Pinning

Highlight the image you want to share and then click the small pin it symbol that now is visible on the lower right corner.

Sign up or Sign in to Pinterest

If you do not already have a Pinterest account you will be asked to sign up for one now, otherwise just log on to your account.

Create a Pin

When logged in you will be able to choose a Board for your new pin and write a short description. When done just click “Pin it” and your image from Facebook is now shared on your Pinterest account – it’s as easy as that!
