Forms are necessary features that web designers include in any website that collect information from visitors. We use HTML forms to gather data such as contact information, messages, emails, payment information and other sensitive data. Form are not difficult to implement in HTML, but if you are not a web developer and at the same time need a flexible solution to both create form and manage submissions, then you may need some help. Good news is, talented developers have created robust and easy to use solutions, form builders for popular platforms like WordPress.

nForms is one of the better WordPress form builder plugins, but as you can see in this collection there are plenty of options for WordPress users. nForms is responsive and this means mobile users will be able to use the forms. It makes use of a drag and drop builder to help you lay out your form elements without any need for HTML code at all. You also have the option to use a multi column form layout, aside from the traditional form layout where all elements are listed in one column. The forms built are Ajax based so submission and validation of data submitted to the server does not need a reload of the page. Forms are easy to insert and can be added to WordPress pages and posts using a shortcode, added as a widget or called through a simple PHP function. There is also support for objects, Google maps and video embeds.

I have tried the live demo of nForms WordPress Form Builder and it is a cool plugin to work with giving you optimal focus on the form design and function. There are dozens of options you can use in your forms and the forms you create are organized accordingly. To start building your form, you need to fill up first a popup box, and select whether you need a new form created or duplicate and existing form.

nForms WordPress Form Builder includes 16 field types and each field type has its own customizable settings. Just click on the item on the left side and you will see it appearing on the right side. Form elements and porperties such as layout / using columns and validation is set up to the left in a modern and user friendly editor.

It is also simple to set up configuration for the entire form function such as email settings, form validation text and form submission from the form options button on the top menu.

The same is true for the overall styling of the form where you can control width, fonts and much more.

When you’re done you can save your work and view the completed form from the dashboard list. The dashboard includes a lot of data for all the forms. Statistics of form submission, read/ unread forms and views are all listed. You can also export the data to an excel file for anyone wanting to keep an offline copy.
