The quality and availability of WordPress ecommerce themes makes WordPress a serious online shop platform. In fact WordPress has moved rapidly from being mainly a blogging platform to being one of the top CMS systems for traditional websites. Lately WordPress has also made a mark in the e-commerce space and more and more online shop are now powered by WordPress ecommerce. In this article I have collected most of the really good Premium WordPress ecommerce themes for you. Some I left out because they weren’t WordPress 3+ ready and some just aren’t worth a premium title. If I missed some really good themes then please leave a link in a comment and I will consider adding them. Please note that WordPress requires shopping cart features to function as an online shop and while some themes have built in e-commerce modules most rely on popular WP commerce plugins like e.g. woocommerce themes. Below each theme in the list I have added information about this. This is helpful if you are looking for a theme that support a specific plugin. Emidio, In most cases it is easy to translate a theme to another language. Wordpress support internationalization very well and most premium themes implement the feature. IT is a task however to do the actual translation.

You need to read the terms and conditions carefully at the theme vendors website. Some vendors have both “single site /single theme” license and club license. Then again some have both basic and developers.
“single site /single theme” is “typically” one site you can use on one of your own sites. This could be Themeforest. You pay once and get updates.
“Club license” are different and also vary in the details. In general however they typically give access to more than one theme that you can use on one or more sites (some say your own / some also include client sites). This license model is typically a yearly fee as new themes arrive all the time.
What model to pick is difficult to tell and it depends on your needs

Forgive me for this question, but I’m intrigued with these options. Are these options compatible with any child-theme Wordpress site? In other words, what would the general steps be to utilize say the Boutique theme with my current blog platform (Lifestyles Studio Press)?
In WordPress you have one theme active and one or more plugins. This means you cannot easily take elements from e.g. the Boutique theme and add them to your existing theme. What you could do is to set up a new WordPress instance below your main site “www.yoursite.com/shop” or as a subdomain “shop.yoursite.com”. Here you could use the e-commerce theme and make sure the navigation etc. (header/footers) are integrated so visitors can go easily from one part to the other.
Finally you can install a ecommerce plugin into your wordpress site and start adding the needed elements to your existing theme… not simple though I would guess.
Woothemes have also developed child themes to some of their popular themes. This is for their woocommerce plugins. It requires however that you have one of their themes and that it is one of the themes with a child theme available.

Great list! I’ve been researching how to go about setting up a website/blog for a Dog Walking/Training/Pet Sitting business I’m opening in DC after a 20 year sales consulting career. I’m reasonably tech-savvy but really unclear if I need hire someone to build me a site (to ensure proper tagging etc…so I can be found) or if I can put together on my own via something like Wordpress. I almost would rather build it myself but im not foolish enough to believe i know enough!! So…If I need an option for appointment setting or “purchase” for walks/packages etc…do you (or anyone) have any suggestions? Just educating myself here! Thanks much!
I noticed a lot of these offer many payment options ACCEPT your own merchant account that accepts credit cards. Emailed support on one of these themes (forgot which) and they basically said you need to hack the HTML & php, and with these eCommerce themes things can get tricky real fast!
Any suggestions on how to do this correct without compromising everything? This is new territory for me as I am used to zen cart.

I’m not sure it is part of the theme. The features you need may be in the commerce system or available as an extension. Not sure this is what you need but it is an example of an extension that give more possibilities for setting up the checkout page.

Thought this was a great article and includes some very inspirational themes. I am just starting to look into WordPress and this will give me some great ideas when creating my WordPress sites. I like a lot of the themes you have included but the one that stood out for me was the E-Store theme. I love the feel of the theme and the use of textures in the design. The whole theme has a very fresh feel and I love the use of jQuery and how the pictures move up and down depending on the slide. I also liked the Mazine theme and the clean modern look and again the use of jQuery really makes the theme stand out.
