how-to-watermark-photos

If you know how to watermark photos using a WordPress plugin, you can put image protection on automation, but it should be used with care!

The possibilities related to publishing value content online are overwhelming. As an example, many photographers and creative designers use online portfolios, blogs and photography websites to showcase their work and attract new clients. However, there is a down side to it.

Unfortunately most high quality content is sure to be copied over time, both by people with bad intentions and by people that are not aware of the copyright rules.

So what can you do? It is generally hard to watch out for content lifters and it takes time from building your business. People that violate copyrights will not just steal your content, but also copy your images in their own posts without giving you credits. Even worse, they might even take credit for your photos.

Even if you use tools like Copyscape to search for your content on other sites it is a very difficult task and especially for image based content. Therefore, one of the easiest ways of preventing or just limiting the consequences is to add watermarks to your images before they are published. This is a potential pain for your blog readers, and therefore using watermark is a balance. It should only be applied in cases where high value content is at risk.

A lot of designers and photographers use image editing software for adding watermarks to their graphics and photos, which also serve as a copyright notice. However, more options are available if you use WordPress.

In this article I have collected 7 useful WordPress watermark plugins to help you watermark photos for your website.
