This post will bring you back to the classic values of pixel fonts.
If you have grown tired of all those sleek and grungy new fonts, you should try to go “back in time” and checkout the simple pixel font designs. They will add a special vintage feeling to your design and they are useful if you need to make your typography very small.
Pixel fonts are representations of an exciting period in type design. They were created out of necessity, when there were only low resolution displays. If you ever need to make your fonts very small, which typically means anything that is 9 pixels and below, you would want to use a specially designed mini pixel font. Such fonts are very common in Flash applications, but they are not used much anywhere else. This is in spite of the fact that mini fonts have an elegant air in them.
Pixel fonts now occupy a highly niched style of vintage nostalgia. Each design may look quite similar with one another, but really they are not. If you will look closer, you will notice small differences in the pixilation. To help you, we have compiled a list of more than 30 pixel fonts for your review. You can browse on the entire list and choose the one that is most suitable for your next project. I have chosen these pixel fonts for their peculiarity, general old-fashioned awesomeness and/or visual interest.
