Secondly, and more importantly for this post, it allows you to insert post information using a widget or a shortcode. The plugin lets you use various post queries to display popular, recent, related, sticky, categoty and tab based posts. In addition, you get great control over the design and information included in the listings such as how much excerpt to display and how to format the thumbnail images. Besides using the widget you can also insert post information into pages and posts using a shortcode. This is an example of how the shortcode is set up.

[super-post query="recent" items="5" show_excerpt="true" excerpt_length="15" excerpt_more="..." show_thumbnail="true" icon_height="40" icon_width="40" show_comments="true" show_date="true" date_format="F j, Y" order="DESC"]

This is how the widget or shortcode will look like on the page. Of the two posts shown here, only one of them have a thumbnail attached.
