Once in a while you need to hide a Facebook post from some of your friends. It could be your family, colleagues or even your best friends that you do not want to share a certain post with.
Luckily it is possible to not just hide, but to make a post invisible to a person or a group of people. All you have to do is customize your audience before your hit the “post” button.
If you are interested in upholding a certain level of privacy on Facebook you might also want to have a look at this article on how to avoid getting your name used in Facebook ads.
So next time you share an image that you would prefer not to end up in your moms or boss’ Newsfeed all you need to do is follow this quick tutorial and you are set to post.
I hope you will find this small piece of advice useful and if you think any of your friends would benefit from knowing this privacy function do feel free to share this article. I am also curious on how many already use this function – do you? And if so on which type of posts do you use it?
1. Create a new post
When posting a new update or sharing a photo you have the option of customizing your audience before sharing the post
2. Go to the drop down menu
Enter the drop down menu and choose the option “custom”
3. Choose audience
Now you can choose exactly with whom you want to share and do not want to share your post. For this example I have chosen to share my post with my friends however, people I have marked as “limited profile” will not be able to see the post. You can also type a name in the box if it a particular person you do not want to share the post with.
Once you have set the “custom privacy” you are ready to share your new post. – Do remember to “save changes” before posting.
