For website and mobile app designers it is great to have a sizable collection of glyph icons. A set of icons with well designed glyph symbols can easily be used as design elements in website navigation, app UI designs etc. Most  glyph icon designs consist of simple and monochromatic symbols and serve as great tools for communicating a message to users. Glyph icons often comes in large icon packages, but you can also find small specialized glyph icon sets for specific use cases, such as navigation symbols, hotel signs, e-commerce symbols etc. I personally like to use glyphs on portfolio websites where services and skills are lined up in columns but it is also a technique that is comnly used in business and multi-purpose themes. A good example is the Enfold theme where Entypo is made available in the backend as easy to use icons in the page builder and text editor.

For this article I have collected a large amount of glyph icon sets and collections of monochromatic symbol icons. I am sure you will find them useful for your website and app design assignments. Please note that most of the icon packs are free for personal and commercial use, but you always need to check is usage are somehow restricted for commercial use. Please take time to share your thoughts in a comment or share it with your friends and coworkers if you the article.

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing these! I had a hard time creating an e-magazine a couple of days ago just because I couldn’t find the appropriate icons. One little question though – I noticed that you said that these may have copyright attached to them. Do you know of any sites where you can buy stock glyph icons?

Thanks!
Alana

Hi Alana, if you search on Google for “buy stock glyph icons” you will get a lot of useful hits. That said when you click on the icons shared in this post you can see if the icons are free to use or you need to pay for them. Hope you’ll find what you are looking for.

Kind regards,
Sofie

Awesome collection. It’s really impressive how a few pixels create such marvellous icons.
