yeah you are right, Wordpress is not for blogging only. Many use it to make a great online store as well as Amazon store (online shopping site with Amazon affiliate)..
Nice compilation,..
Wordpress plugins are great!
Great post. I’ve just started using WooCommerce and i’ve found it to be highly flexible and full of features.
Thanks for these themes.
We just launched our new site using WooCommerce and it’s had a fantastic impact on our bottom line due to the improved SEO friendly features that WordPress & WooCommerce offer us out of the box. In addition, the cart process is much improved and the extensive list of ever increasing plugins is really helping us to expand the store! Very happy with it
Nice list:)
I have one of the themes, Sommerce, that you mention but I’m using it with Jigoshop (over here: downloadcraftshop.com ) I think the Sommerce theme is super great.
Does anyone know about the key differences/similarities between Jigoshop and Woocommerce. Does anyone have experience of which work best of the two and have best features?
WooCommerce is base on JigoShop, they are very similar. But I suggest WooCommerce, it’s being developed more fast, and have more great plugins.
And there is another great WooCommerce theme:
http://colorvila.com/themes/proshop/
LARS can you add this to the list? I think someone may need it. Thanks!
That’s a nice theme, especially for clothes or crafts.
Some great themes there, but for starting on a clean slate, I think the best one to use is the Canvas Commerce child theme, from Woo Themes
I launched my new business on Etsy about a month ago. All is going very well and I decided to buy my domain name & start an estore. I probably bit off way more than I can chew because I’m NO TECHIE! I have no clue- not even about blogging (which I don’t want to do at this point).
So – I have my domain name hosted through JustHost.com- and I’ve learned enough to know that going w/ WP is the way to go – but not sure if I should go with WP E-Commerce – which so many say has lots of bugs- or WooCommerce. I’ve looked @ themes & like MayaStore, The Builder, FreshShop (all ThemeForest, I believe) & Boutique (Elegant Themes). My question is: What is the EASIEST to use for someone brand new to this? A little background info – my company is Organic Skin Care & I have about 75 products now, and plan on having quite a few more- maybe up to 200 at some point. I like a simple fresh & airy look – that is not chaotic – (I’m sure I’m not the only one out there with ADD symptoms). Thanks in advance to anyone that can guide me!!
I’d suggest WooCommerce with the Canvas theme, which is what I use on the site I’m currently putting together (www.moonworks.co.uk).
Having said that, I just created a site for somebody using the Wootique theme, which is a free theme from WooThemes. This is how that one looks, currently with aboput 100 items added (www.safestuff.net).
The reason I like WooCommerce is that it is well supported, and there are plenty of extensions available for it, giving you more freedom on what can be done, but only when you need it.
I agree with Joe, WooCommerce is very flexible and has very powerful extensions.
I would suggest, that you should go with WooCommerce and try a free theme from woothemes like Mystile or Artificer, if you fell comfortable or figured out the perfect usage for your website, then you can go with some Premium Stuff listed above.
Good luck With WooCommerce
It’s kind of strange, I have a club membership for WooThemes and was asked to do an e-commerce site for a friend.
I went through every theme and decided that the best theme for the job, the one that seemed cleanest and fitted her site (selling clothes), was Wootique – a free theme. So it is definitely worth taking a look at the free themes first.
Joe you are right I used Wootique myself at http://newes.dk as well. However it does not have as many options as some of the premium themes. It all depends on the needs and how much development you are willing to do.
Thanks!
Thanks for the post. I was searching for a feature-rich theme to use with WooCommerce. Spent several hours looking at demos and not really finding anything. I was on ThemeForest but somehow missed the Sommerce Shop that you posted. Very helpful and I’m close to buying it.
Bugger, just went to purchase the Canvas theme, and they don’t accept payment via Paypal!
Thanks for these themes.
