The Internet is the leading source for travel planning and as in many other areas there is a significant growth in the use of smartphones and tablets to collect information, organize and complete transactions. One of the reasons may be the meaty supply of useful iPad apps for travel planning and management.

The summer vacation period is coming to an end in many parts of the world just now. Did you know that this is the best time to start planning for next year? A good friend once told me that he never end a vacation without starting the planning of the next. Idea is to get some good energy flowing and some ideas on the table before work takes over all focus again. In a time of global recession many people have lower budgets and even find it difficult to take the vacation. In this case careful and long term planning is essential.

In this article, we are showcasing iPad apps with high user ratings you can use for planning and supporting you on your travel. Keep in mind that once you know your destination, there may be some unique local apps you need to grab. Some  examples could be airport apps you can use to monitor your flight status or apps created by local organizations to assist tourists, like if you go to Copenhagen in Denmark The Official Copenhagen City Guide will be valuable.

While some apps are great for the planning your travel I believe some iPad photography apps can be really useful to help you capture the happy moments and refine the photos on the move. Then your photos will be ready for your personal travel website… if haven’t got one yet you should check out some WordPress travel themes to get started. Most of these apps may work well with the new iPad mini and it is great as a travel companion. Just remember to keep it safe and get a case to protect the iPad mini on the move!
