Adobe has just released a beta version of the next version of Photoshop. Photoshop users are often sticking to one version for a long time and the new yearly releases from Adobe tend not to be revolutionary. In order to help the process of moving users to the new version, Photoshop CS6 beta has been made freely available from Adobe Labs in English and Japanese. This is a great opportunity and why not take it?

The commercial release is expected to be available shortly – in the first half of 2012. Adobe offers through this beta testing a peek at the program and its many new features. Meanwhile the new versions of the rest of Creative Suite and Creative Cloud are made ??ready for launch.

Photoshop CS6 will as we have seen for the last few versions, be released in both a standard and a so-called Extended Edition. Both are expected to contain a number of new features and improvements Photoshop addicts will hopefully love. If you haven’t even moved to CS5 this is also your chance to play with features like content aware fill that have made CS5 so popular.

Sneak peak of the new features

I found this video where Russel Preston Brown presents his 6 favorite new features of Adobe Photoshop CS6. I would say some of them are pretty cool, but look for yourself.

Just as an example the Tilt-Shift blur looks like a pretty cool new filter.

And the Content-Aware-Move looks like a Winner too….

A Quick How-To Get started with Adobe Photoshop CS6

1. First, you will need to download Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Because this is the beta version of PS CS6, you will not need a serial number for Photoshop CS6, but you will need to check the box from “Try. I want to try Adobe Photoshop CS6 for a limited time.”. This message will appear when you will try to install Photoshop CS6. If you will choose the “Install” option, the software will ask for a serial number.

2. Accept the End-user License Agreement to continue.

3. Register by creating a new Adobe Photoshop ID or login with an existing one.

4. Choose the product components you want to install.

5. The Adobe Photoshop CS6 will be installed both the 32-bit AND 64-bit the application on a 64-bit OS. You can choose to install only the 64-bit if you uncheck the Adobe Photoshop CS6 box.

6. Click “Install”.

Please share your opinion about and experience with the new features of Adobe Photoshop CS6 – do you find them useful or not?
