Best Gaming Monitor Collection

Are you a serious gamer looking for the best gaming monitor for your rig? This article is showcasing the best monitors for gaming on the market with screen sizes ranging from 22-30 inches, different panel types and price ranges – something for every budget.

Generally, as a serious gamer you want to look for a monitor that has a very low response time, high resolution and the connectivity you need. Having the right monitor can be crucial to your overall success and gaming experience. A large screen size will make you immerse yourself into the game making it an awesome experience, giving you an adrenalin rush! Smaller screen sizes will surfice but the lower resolution will make it more difficult to see far away opponents making you an easier target. Low response times is also vital because theres no fun missing a great shot if your display stutters and images look blurred. So having enough frame rates and a low response time will give you the edge and much better winning chances.

A thing to note is that when new models are launched the price on older models are typically reduced making them ideal for the price conscious gamer. A cheaper monitor doesn’t therefore necessarily mean that it’s a low-end or poor model but can reflect that it is an older model that earlier was a top model in that line of products.

This is part 2 of a series of 2 articles. In part 1 I have written a thorough guide to choose the best gaming monitor where you can learn why the wrong monitor can ruin your overall gaming performance and experience. You might already have invested thousands of dollars in a kick-ass rig with the latest hardware, keyboard, mouse and headset only to discover blurred images and ghosting on your screen. Knowing what to look for when buying a new monitor for gaming will minimize any unpleasant surprises when playing your favorite game the first time.

Dell UltraSharp U3011 30-inch Widescreen Monitor

This screen is the ultimate gaming monitor if you have the money to spend. It has a super high resolution screen capable of 2560×1600 that exhibits deep blacks and vibrant colors in games. It’s one of the few monitors with a H-IPS panel with a response time of 6ms that will prevent ghosting and input lag when playing fast paced games.

Being a IPS panel it has a color saturation amongst the best and better viewing angles than PN panels. So if you are a gamer that wont compromise anything when gaming and a photographer who consider color accuracy and viewing angles important, this is the best gaming monitor you can get and well worth the money.

It features almost any type of video connection you can wish for including VGA, HDMI, DisPlayPort, Component, Composite and 2 DVI-D ports.

Samsung S27A950D 27-Inch Class 3D LED Monitor

Samsung S27A950D 27 Inch Class 3D LED

This is a brand new 27” LED model from Samsung featuring full high definition 1080p display and 120Hz to give you exceptional sharp and smooth images during intense gameplay. It has a TN panel with a specified 2ms response time so you shouldn’t experience any kind of motion blur or ghosting with this monitor.

Viewing angels are very good and contrast ratio is really awesome producing a black level that is very deep. Color accuracy is very close to 100% even for a LED monitor. Samsung really worked on this one – simply amazing!

You can connect to HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI-D ports enabling you to connect either your computer, game console or Blu-ray player. As an extra feature it includes a kit with 3D glasses and 3D gaming software. If it’s to expensive for your budget it’s available as 23 inch.

ViewSonic VA2702W 27-Inch Full HD 1080p Widescreen LCD Monitor

ViewSonic VA2702W 27 inch

If you want a large screen but don’t want to spend too much money this ViewSonic 27” LCD monitor is awesome! ViewSonic is known for making excellent monitors for gaming and this one is no exception. For the money you get a very fast TN panel with a response time of 3ms with decent color reproduction and viewing angels.

You will not be able to connect using HDMI or DisplayPort, only VGA or DVI-D are available and I highly recommend using DVI-D for optimal picture quality. ViewSonic haven’t thrown in a lot of extra features or connection ports but for the price you get an amazing gaming monitor at 27”, full HD 1080p and very low response time.

This screen is highly recommended if you are serious about gaming!

Acer GD235HZbid Widescreen 23.6″ 3D LCD Display

Acer GD235HZBID

If you want great gaming performance the Acer 24” monitor is a very safe choice. It’s a high performing 3D capable monitor that is great for gamers looking for a low-price replacement. It has a TN panel with a response time of 2ms and 120Hz making it lightning fast. You can enjoy full HD 1080p using DVI-D or HDMI ports. A VGA port is available but I wouldn’t recommend using it.

Games look very smooth, colors are vibrant and has fairly deep blacks. This monitor surely matches some of the best gaming monitors available on the market.

ASUS VG236H 23-Inch 120 Hz 3D Ready Panel Monitor

ASUS VG236H 23 inch

Asus have made an amazing 23” LCD screen which is 3D capable. This TN panel also features a response time of only 2ms, 120Hz refresh rate and full HD resolution of 1920x1080p. It has a great contrast ratio and a higher than usual brightness which is ideal when utilizing 3D as the 3D glasses act like weak sunglasses reducing the fidelity of the visuals. You can connect your monitor using dual-link DVI with HDCP, component or HDMI.

This screen offers very deep and vivid colors while being lightning fast – perfect for you hardcore gaming rig!

Samsung PX2370 23-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor with LED Backlight

Samsung PX2370 23-Inch

Not being the latest model on the market this monitor is reasonably priced but still offers great performance with it’s 23” LED display. It’s a TN panel with a response time of only 2ms and as expected viewing angels are narrow. Colors are very accurate out of the box and features a native resolution of 1080p – perfect for full HD.

This monitor is highly recommended due to it’s overall color accuracy, perfect white balance and shadow details. Though it’s not 120Hz you still get a very responsive screen without input lag and DVI-D and HDMI connectivity. An excellent widescreen gaming monitor!

ViewSonic VX2268WM 22-Inch 120 Hz 3D-Ready Monitor with 1680×1050 Resolution and Stereo Speakers

ViewSonic VX2268WM 22 inch 120hz

If you’re short on space the ViewSonic 22” LCD screen offers you a TN panel with a fast response time of 2ms and 120Hz refresh rate making it a must have for any FPS gamer. You will only get VGA and DVI-D ports and a max. resolution of 1680×1050 but for the money it’s still a real bargain.

I would recommend connecting using the DVI-D port in order to utilize the 120Hz potential. It has zero input lag which will help you improve your aim in FPS games. Viewing angles and color reproduction is as good as the known limitations of TN panel technology. It’s great crisp colors and brightness will definitely improve your visibility in any game you throw at it. It’s the best gaming monitor for the gamer on a budget!

You forgot one of the most important features. Full height adjustment. Either that or you must have a height adjustable desk, or use phonebooks or some other mechanism to make most of these work.
