Adobe Photoshop is one of the most commonly used tool by designers in all fields such as web, printing, animation and UI design. Working with the Photoshop PSD files as source for design elements e.g. Photoshop text effects can help you get a quicker and more effective start. A PSD file is an image file created by Adobe Photoshop that may include image layers, adjustment layers, layer masks, annotation notes, file information, keywords, and other Photoshop-specific elements. The PSD files contain all the information and flexibility for being changed you could ask for.
While PSD files are saved in a proprietary format, they can be opened directly with Apple Preview, which is included with Mac OS X. They can be also opened by the media programs included with Windows 7 if the correct codec, such as the Ardfry PSD codec, is installed. These programs include Windows 7 Photo Viewer, Windows 7 Media Center, and Windows Media Player.

Great share! I have a question, how do make the images in high-res? I’ve tried using photos from the internet which have high resolutions but when I do layering and filters, trying to make something creative, the resolution goes down. Will all the effects I add lower the quality of the photo?
Not sure what you have been doing as Photoshop should keep the same resolution even when you apply effects. One common error I see is when people use CTRL-T (free transform) to scale. If SHIFT is not held down the dimensions are not maintained and the quality is suffering a lot…. if the image is useful at all…

Unfortunately the “arrow buttons” comes up with an error message – I find these icons are always useful to have around. Perhaps they’ve moved or been removed from their website.
