Search engine marketing is constantly changing. Like social media and other aspects of online marketing, search engines are working to deliver better results for their users. To do this they are constantly developing and focusing on new areas like e.g. localization and social search. Further they adjust their algorithms all the time to work around most common attempts to fool the search engines to give better ranks. Search Engine Optimization better known as SEO is about making your pages look good to search engines and this way obtain better ranking for specific keywords. The term SEO both covers on page factors (having keywords in title, h1 tags, etc.) and off page factors (having many inbound links to the pages and even better if the pages linking have high page rank and keywords in the link anchor text etc.). Doing SEO is a constant fight to improve rankings and get a good placement on the first search page while not getting on Googles radar as a link builder and keyword spammer.
