The Socrates WordPress theme has been created by the experienced marketers Dan Nickerson and Joel Comm. It is a very flexible theme that I believe most bloggers could benefit from, but it has been specifically designed to meet the needs of busy Internet marketers. Socrates is making it very easy to set up a new Adsense and Clickbank monetized niche website, that is search engine optimized and hooked up to you social media profiles. When looking at the demo site you may think Socrates is just another WordPress theme. It may look like many other themes, but believe me there is more to it.
Socrates Theme – High End Options Pages
Options pages are normal these days in both premium and free themes, but Socrates takes it a bit further than most other themes. Once the theme is activated you will find a new Socrates menu. This menu gives you easy access to the options pages where you can customize the theme look and feel with out any coding.
The Socrates menu item takes you to the splash page where you will find live news and advice fx. if you need to update the theme to a never version. This is usefil but not the reason why you would invest in the theme.
Socrates Theme – Multiple Layout Designs
The Socrates Theme is very flexible in terms of layout. You can choose from five layouts – left sidebar, right sidebar and split sidebar design. There are two width options for left and right sidebars. This is one of the features I have been looking for a lot in other themes and by having it I would say that Socrates is more a theme framework than a traditional WordPress theme.
If you need to create fx. sales page, a squeeze pages Socrates have build in templates making it so easy. Towards the end of this product introduction video you can see it in action. This feature is also seen in a few other themes and is really handy if you are great at getting ideas but find it hard to code HTML and CSS yourself.

Socrates Premium Theme – Header Layout Generator
This is one of the unique features in Socrates. I have not seen this kind of functionality in other themes so far and it is very useful and time saving when you set up a new site. Basically you can pick from more than 200 existing images or you can upload your own. The images that are delivered with this theme is ordered into categories and it is easy to find one that fits your niche.
Once you have picked an image you can add text to the header, control size, image, location etc.
Socrates Theme – Social Networking support
It is also really easy to make visitors aware of your social media profiles. Typing in fx. a twitter URL will enable a “Follow Me” twitter icon in the sidebar.
Socrates Premium WordPress Theme – Customizable Navigation
Navigation is important to any web site and blog and have never been one of easy areas of WordPress to manage. The latest version of WordPress (3.0) is addressing this to some extend but still it needs to be supported by the themes. Socrates takes care of navigation and gives you full control. The navigation setup page support drag and drop from the available pages and categories you may want to add to your navigation. Socrates have a top and a bottom navigation that you set up individually. You can also with one click make sure a page is kept hidden for users and search engines.

Many thanks for such an insight for this theme. I am not a very ‘techie’ sort of guy so anything which makes the job easier is a plus point for me. I particularly like the fact that you are able to pick from a variety of header images (or upload your own if you know how). I have always had to use whatever came with the theme or input just plain text. Will certainly look into this further.
