15 Great Online Form Building Tools

Forms are an essential part of any website to collect information from visitors. You may want to have a contact form, have a survey, an order form etc. However if your not a programmer with experience in creating the html forms, saving the inputs to a database, creating admin pages to manage inputs, creating mailers etc. you will be on a though journey! Good news is there are lots of great online tools and plugins you can use to create professional forms without knowing anything about programming and they can typically be integrated seamlessly into your site. Lets take a look at some of the best online form building tools currently available.

Formstack

Formstack is one of the most feature rich online form service providers. They have a great form builder with drag and drop functionality allows you to quickly build your form within any of the popular web browsers available today. Formstack excels in helping you collect, manage, route, and leverage your form’s data via a secure online form. With Formstack, you can store data in their online database, share that data with others via a simple link, export your data in Excel or Word, and use the API. They also provide conditional logic calculation on fields, payment integration, mobile apps and more. Recently they also released a plugin for WordPress that you really need to check out. Combined with the free account you have a great solution for adding forms to your blog or website and it will be free up to a certain level of usage.

Hello Lars, I am impressed with the collection that you have shared. I too would like to add another form design software that I have been using. It’s called Logiforms and I have been using it at my job for a while. It has a lot of cool features that include online form analytics which is something that we have been using in order to keep track on how all of our forms our performing. Here’s their site: http://v3.logiforms.com/

Hey Lars, very nice collection here. For the sake of updating I wanted to add to the mix a toolset that wasn’t around when this text was written – http://usabilitytools.com/ . It is a toolbox that includes online survey tool and feedback form tool. Importantly, one can also check the usability of the online forms with the Form Tester.
Cheers!

I wanted to add http://www.mobosurvey.com to this list of online form building tools. Mobosurvey helps you quickly create online form/surveys that are accessible from any internet capable devices. Your users can access the same form/survey from their smart phones, tablets, laptops, or desktops at anytime.

Great article, but Forms on the Fly is a new addition! Unlike the other tools with Forms on the Fly it is very easy to set up automated, personalised response meaning it doesn’t just collect info but delivers it too. Have a look!
