Interview with Allan Szacher from Zupi Magazine and Awesome Cover Showcase

A few weeks ago I learned about Zupi, an art magazine with really awesome covers. I honestly didn’t know a lot about Zupi but I was curious and decided to learn more and see if I could be showcasing some of the covers here on tripwire magazine. Allan Szacher the editor at Zupi and also a graphic artist have answered my questions and allowed me to show you 18 really great and creative covers. The covers are all very unique and experiment with different art styles. What is consistent is the Zupi logo being an integrated part of the cover designs – I like that! My personal favorite is Cover #16 what is yours?

What is Zupi Magazine?

Zupi is a contemporary art, illustration, photography, graffiti magazine. Our main goal is to show great talents artist all over the world and to promote them to our community and for companies and people that loves art and maybe can hire us to do commission works

What makes Zupi different and stand out from the many other design magazines?

The mag have a great quality. Our size is different from many mags, a bit smaller but really comfortable to read. It looks more like a book then a real mag cause our pages are thicker and with great quality

when did you start Zupi and what is the main focus areas?

Zupi started in 2002 and we love art, fine arts, graffiti, photography and illustration

How are you choosing the great designs for the front page and is it possible for designers to get on it, how?

We are in extensive research everyday looking for great artists. And we also receive every 2 months more then 1200 artworks from all over the world to get in our gallery at zupi mag. To be cover at zupi mag it should be one of the artist that we are interviewing, but to be cover at our site it only need to send artworks to us.

What type of articles are you typically publishing?

We like to talk about inspirations, creative process, but we only show personal artworks at zupi. In our mag you will never see commercial works cause this you can check out daily at life, everywhere.

How often are you publishing new issues? How many magazines do you print and what is the typical number of pages? We print 15.000 mags every issue and we have 6 new issues every year. we have releases parties every 2 months. All mags have 100 pages.
