I am currently making a multi-user website and played a bit with some of these plugins. Rolescoper is huge, but I haven’t found the right settings yet. Will look into the others ASAP. Thanks!

Good point Florian.

That said, it has been my experience that the majority of plug-ins are not written to be multi-user. As a matter of fact, I had to take matters into my own hands. Granted, it’s not available for public release but you may be interested in:

Please pardon the self-endorsement. I’m simply trying to share an idea that might inspire someone the way I was inspired. And to be honest, aside from being in beta, I’m not releasing it because I don’t have the spare time to deliver proper support. Also, Ping.fm has stopped issuing public API keys so some of the functionality is handcuffed for the time being.

Looking for a plugin to change capabilities in WP, I found your excellent article. The description of Capability Manager was promessing so I tried that one. Turned out to be problematic on WP3.0 Multi-Site so had to search on. And guess what, I found a new one that is Multi-Site compatible : User Role Editor on http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-role-editor/

Seems to work ok so I thought you might like to know about it. To expand your already great article
