The technologies used by web developers and designers are constantly developing, getting better and easier to use etc. but the speed of change is a serious challenge for everyone. It is not unlikely to work hard to learn something new just to realise it is already obsolete knowledge we have been collecting.Several new versions/releases with significant changes have been released but being new to the area/technology how should we know. There are many options today to pick up new knowledge but books are still the right answer when you are serious about learning. Recent books from good publishers are normally up to date and will be covering latest development in the needed detail.
There is nothing as good as a traditional book but if you want to protect the environment e-books is a great alternative and especially for developers it is a must to be able to search for specific keywords, APIs etc. I know that most readers of tripwire magazine need to stay sharp and be on the front foot when it comes to knowledge. To help out readers of tripwire magazine Packt Publishing have kindly sponsored four free e-book to winners of a contest. Please read on and learn how to participate in the contest below.
